This is a crazy good deal. Think of it as a baby Lexus vs Toyota Corolla (Z30) . A full frame camera for less than $500 is something unheard of not long ago. And Nikon refurbished products are like new, or new, not beat up ebay stuff.

If all your DXs are nikkor then viltrox ftz is good enough and is much cheaper than the nikon's (140 on amazon, 80 on aliexpress if you don't want a warranty).

I will go for Z30 with an FTZ.
Thanks. New to this, any recommendation on the FTZ II adapter?

Any recommended lenses to get with this?

My own research says the Nikkon Z 24-120 f4 S lens is widely regarded. $900 lens though... is that what good FF zoom lenses cost?

Yes it is what a good lens cost. 24-70f4 is just as good, smaller and lighter too, just doesn't reach as far. If you get the right kit, the lens can cost less than $500.

Get the Nikon adapter if you have a good set of lenses otherwise look into Z lens (50mm f1.8 and 40mm f2 are pretty inexpensive during sales). The 40 f2 is very compact and light weight.

Th Nikon FTZ II price has really gone up, I see a refurb on Nikon site for $200 and ebay's around that price. I paid $184 back in January from a 3rd party seller with no issue.

I bought the Z30 with 2 kit lenses earlier in the year, but I ended using the 24-70 f4, and 50 f1.8 more. I personally find the 50 f1.8 have better image quality than the 40 f2 but that's my personal opinion only.

I'm looking at the 24-70 f4 and 28-75 f2.8. Any thoughts between the 2?

Why the thumbs down? Good price on the body, but what's a good kit lens? They seem expensive.

In for the Z30 with the kit lens as my first mirrorless camera.

Coming from Nikon D600 and haven't been shooting for awhile now.

Looking to get a prime lens to go with the Z30. Is 24mm/f1.7 is the lens to buy?
Get the Viltrox 25mm f/1.7 if you're looking at that focal length. Their site also doesn't charge sales tax.

New to photography and wondering if anyone could shed some light on how good of a deal this one and the one for the Z30 actually are. Thanks!
Very good price. You can compare to their used prices on ebay and other secondhand, its much lower and its manufacturer refurbished.

Either of these with some of the Viltrox and other budget lenses makes for a great setup. Nikon still isn't really allowing third-party zooms so you could also get those with a Sony E to Nikon Z adapter for some flexibility and monetary savings.

Z30 is designed for video and vlogging, if that's not what you are going to use it for, don't get it.

The Z 24-70 and 24-120 f/4s are both S lenses so Nikon considers them higher end than non S lenses. A lot of people have been getting the 24-120 so you can find great deals on the 24-70 f/4 if you don't need the range.

Two very different lenses. The 2.8 is significantly bigger and heavier. Its going to get you more out of focus backgrounds and higher shutter speed in low light. If you don't care about that, you don't need it.

I was about to get this z30 single lens refurb 2 weeks ago for $380. then they bump the price the night im ordering.

I just purchased canon r50v body last night. Im thinking of cancelling it now.

This is a gift for my 17yrs old son for christmas.

EDIT: cancelled the R50V.
