it's utility. people can just go on hike, run, walk, etc without carrying their phone and still be connected to the world in case someone wants to reach out. usually there is additional $10pm charge to avail this service. or you can continue using wifi only and never take advantage of cellular.

Using cellular must be taking a hit on a battery life of already limited capacity of less than 24hrs. Is it still a viable utility? I have only used gps models so far and debating getting cellular this time, but can't quite decide due to poor battery life on these watches.

Apple watches are an extension to the phone. As long as I get a day battery life, I'd live with it. There are ultras which have bigger battery and there are Garmin which have weeks of battery life.

Bought the same version watch on Amazon Nov 13 as I wasn't sure the rose color would be available later or get it in time...went to Amazon to return it and got to the final page and they offered me a $77 refund which made the price almost the same...so thank you!

I got one for my mom so fall detection will work if she doesn't have her phone with her. At $7 a month for a cell plan, I feel better that she has some tool to help if she needs it.

Don't buy from Walmart! If the delivery guy steals it, they won't refund you! It just happened to me! OnTrac stole two Apple Watches and Walmart didn't; refund the money. I lost the watches and my money too!
