My only advice for anyone getting a hard shell is to make sure it has the AIR PRESSURE VALVE so your case doesn't get sealed shut.

As many have suggested, and I strongly do myself, this bag is not meant for valuables, electronics, or recording equipment. You never ever check those bags unless you own a money tree. These are for clothes, and your regular everyday crap if that bag will ever be out of your control for even a minute.
Second, if it's in your possession, and you know what's inside, why would you be overly aggressive with any bag in the first place. Especially when the contents are extremely valuable.
Only time I can ever see any of these bags, from smallest to largest loaded with any sensitive equipment would be for non flight use.
