Not an expert, but very much a coffee enthuisiast. I can definitely say Breville Bambino/plus is an excellent machine, and where I started my Espresso journey. I would recommend it or Gaggia in a hearbeat to anyone wanting to start with Espresso.

I do not have any experience with this Kitchenaid machine. The espresso machine itself is not as important as the grinder, as long as the machine gets to pressure between 7 and 10 bars. Some machines at this price point have too much pressure (12 or 15 bars or even higher), which is not good as it will create channels in your coffee bed and overextract some parts (i.e. taste bitter). The main thing you want to look for in entry level machines is that part, otherwise save the money and put it in a better grinder.

The other problem with entry level machine (including Bambino) is temperature stability - they will fluctuate 3-5F in temperature unless you purge/flush the machine once with a blank espresso shot before brewing your actual shot. It's a small annoyance that you are almost certain to get at these price points, even with PID enabled machines.

Absolutely new to coffee making, love drinking good coffee though. Was going to get the Breville bambino (or bambino plus), but this one is cheaper. Any expert here can suggest if I should get this one or still go with bambino?

This is great. My GE Cafe semi-automatic just died. Only lasted about 18 months, but I used it 5-6 times per day, so I got my monies worth.

I bought one, seems to have really good reviews. I look at it like this, for $120 you can't go wrong. It's a great starter machine to learn on and see how much you will use it and if you want to move on to a more advanced one. I just got the Baratza Encore ESP which also grinds espresso so I'm all set.

Just picked this up. Another 10% off for email sign up. $108 for a espresso machine is a crazy good price from what I've seen.

YMMV: If you are a member of Whirlpool Inside Pass (it's available through my company's benefits site) you might be able to get it for $99.99 depending on your area. For my area (OH) it's OOS but it initially let me add it to the cart before I got to the full product page so another region might still have it.

Espresso Quality
Excellent crema and flavor; consistent shots.
Can be loud during operation.
Milk Frothing
Effortless automation; good for lattes/cappuccinos.
Frother rated average by some (not as precise as manual wands for latte art).
Build & Value
Sturdy all-metal design; great entry-level price (~$500–600).
Smaller water tank limits heavy use; value docked if frother underperforms.
Ease of Use
Beginner-friendly with quick setup.
Learning curve for tamping/pulling shots.
