Rip Van stroopwafels come across as a sweet coffee snack with a healthier twist, thanks to low sugar, high fiber, and 21 percent of the daily value for fiber. The recipe is also noted for using monkfruit extract and no high fructose corn syrup, which sets it apart from the United and Daelmans version and from Aldi alternatives. They are described as delicious, especially with coffee or dipped, and work well as hiking or biking fuel. The main knocks are the small one ounce size, the sweetness, and the monkfruit taste, so they fit best when fiber matters as much as flavor.

  • The stroopwafels pair well with coffee and deliver a "dangerously delicious" flavor.

  • The low sugar, high fiber version uses monkfruit extract, which can suit people seeking reduced sugar.

  • The fiber content reaches 21% DV, which supports using these as a fiber-focused snack.

  • The stroopwafels can work as a convenient hiking or biking snack option.

  • The monkfruit extract may not match everyone's taste preferences.

  • The stroopwafels can taste pretty sweet, which may be a drawback for less-sweet preferences.

  • The 1-ounce portion size can feel too small, and value can seem questionable at the standard price.

  • The coupon can behave inconsistently, since it may appear without signing in and then disappear after signing in.

Why not just get stroopwafels from Aldi's (rebranded original Dutch stroopwafels) or just get them from a US Dutch foods store like VanderVeens (no affiliation).

These things are basically 1 ounce (ridiculous!) and not all that great. I bought two different flavors (including this one) in the dollar aisle at (the now defunct) Rite-Aid and was pretty dissapointed. Definitely not worth the standard price and even questionable at this price. The only plus is that they're high in fiber. You can get your fiber from better overall sources (although these aren't really that unhealthy for a snack).

More Amazon trickery!....coupon is available if you don't sign in. Once you sign in, the coupon dissappears! It makes no sense whatsoever!
I was just curious about what you posted. I had no intention of purchasing these. I can assure you that I never purchased this item (so I should qualify for the coupon).
This nonsense of Amazon randomizing these coupons is truly pathetic!

This is a much better recipe, there's no HFCS and the "Benton's" (at Aldi) have no fiber sources. I don't know what the Aldi variety tastes like, but in terms of the formulation, these are much better.

Reminds me.. Stroopwafels used to be a seasonal item @ Costco. Haven't seen it there in a few.
