They're losing money to sites like Aliexpress, Temu and Amazon Haul that sell cheap junk similar to what they stock.

They've sold online for at least 15 years, probably closer to 20. You've always had to buy by the case.

Lots of things that aren't in the B&M stores are available online. Free shipping makes them available for a decent deal.

For instance, my work uses aluminum pans from dollar tree as they're $1.25 each and last a few years before needing to be replaced, as opposed to spending $5-$10 each on the thicker steel op ones.
