I tried this laptop earlier this year when they had open box models for $300 in my area. I returned it even at that price. The screen was really dim and for some reason the laptop felt incredibly slow. Compared to an older 11th Gen i5 Dell I had it was barely a performance upgrade, most tasks felt similar which was really disappointing given the price. I added in another 16gb stick of ram and while it helped, not very much. Additionally the battery life was abismal.

The only nice thing about this laptop was the build quality, and the fact it does not have soldered ram. I really wish it would have worked out but for the price you can do much better

Unfortunately, no — the memory is on-package and integrated on the board

Just to add some context - This deal is really aimed at people who want a lightweight 2-in-1 for school, work, or everyday use. If you value the touchscreen/tablet flexibility and just need solid performance for typical tasks, it's a good fit.

I'm seriously considering this for my kid who is entering middle school next fall. Want to get him a decent 14" laptop. You guys think I should wait until the back to school deals?

This one has LPDDR, which is soldered... are you saying it also has a slot for extra RAM?

This laptop has soldered/non-expandable RAM. So you might have been looking at a different laptop if you had one where you could add RAM.

The deal is over and it is now $849.99.

Despite the soldered RAM, this laptop includes NPU, touch screen and backlit keyboard. For me it is a solid deal at $499. Thanks, OP.
