I have this Sabrent enclosure. It's the best you can get. It has never failed me once.

If I wanted to clone a drive, would this enclosure work well for the transfer destination drive?
Yes, I have cloned many a drive with the use of these enclosures. I usually use the acronis True Image for Sabrent that you can download for free from this link:
https://sabrent.com/pages/acronis...-sXqvA1rQs
Its not the full fat Acronis, but its free, so I can't really complain, plus it works fast and is pretty reliable.

How do these handle heat dissipation?
I find its actually much more dependent on the actual SSD that is installed in the enclousure. I have written like 400GB+ to some of my SK Hynix P31 or P41 and the enclosures are just lukewarm. But I have also written data do a Plextor NVME that make the enclosure feel like its made from lava!

Bought two of these the other day. One is constantly disconnecting and I haven't tried the other yet. I tried a different enclosure with the same nvme and it's working, so maybe I just got a bad enclosure. Going to try the second one tonight and see if it's any better.
I had these problems with the Orico drive cases

I'm wondering whether the USB cable included with the enclosure supports the full advertised performance. In this case, is the included cable rated for 10 Gbps, or would I need to purchase a separate high-speed cable to achieve that speed?

I'd be surprised if they advertise 10 Gbps speed and include a cable that doesn't support that, but you never know.

According to the Amazon reviews, real world read speed is around 523 MB/s and write speed around 192 MB/s, but I'm sure that's highly dependent on the SSD.

Yes. I have cloned to and from a drive using this enclosure.

I've been looking for one of these, as I just had to evict one of my SSDs to make room for a bigger one. Thanks!

I wonder why they changed the design. It does look sleeker but now it's not stackable
The arc provides more surface area to the fin-stack for heat dissipation.

I have the first generation of this enclosure - works great. I have it in my Rivian for dash camera storage - time will tell how it handles the summer heat. The fact it's metal should help it heat buffer as temperatures rise - having chilled overnight.

The whole thing is a heatsink, so, dissipation is great.

But RTL9210B is an upgraded version of the RTL9210, so RTL9210B is better and its not in this enclosure.
