Placing a order containing $100 of auto-ship items nets you free shipping, the 5% auto-ship discount, and the $20 gift card.

Treating the GC as similar to a cash discount is valid because the GC can be used towards future orders without affecting their eligibility for whatever minimum-spend promo exists at the time.

Similarly, use of the GC doesn't affect the free ship threshold. A $49 cart total, used with a $20 GC, still gets free shipping.

By the way, if you have the right card, you can stack the Chase $15 back with 9% cashback at a third party CB site. Spending exactly $100, that gets you $100 - $30 (code CHEWY) - $15 (Chase) - $9 (cashback) = 54% off.

Or if you've never shopped at Chewy before AND have the Chase deal, you can get $50 - $20 (code WELCOME) - $15 (Chase) - $4.5 (cashback) = 79% off.

These are always a good deal. Unfortunately, this time I chose the SHIP NOW option on my autoship and applied the promo code. I didn't receive the autoship price with the promo code. I called the company and was told the autoship price and promo code can not be stacked this time. Still a savings, however, not as much as previously.

MANY more exceptions this time. The brands I usually buy are all excluded. I've gotten a dozen of these GCs before, but I guess those days are over. Chewy does have good customer service, though.

btw you will get trapped in a recycling gift card situation after no other codes will ever work again

it's not like you can use the gc on a new account and get the new account benefits, they lock the gc to your account electronically and then it's a cycle of waiting for the next $30 off $100
