As they should. DLC needs to go away. Make a complete game and then any ideas for more content should just be put into a sequel; the way it used to be.

Has anyone else been holding off on this deal? In the hope it will come out on PS plus for free?

I had been, but haven't seen it drop below $30 since release. Probably will be at least another year before it drops any lower, if at all.

Spiderman 1 and Miles Morales were both awesome. Part 2 was a letdown. Really wish they would have taken a more creative approach to the endgame villain.

It's insane that there's been zero DLC for this, especially given how great the first game's DLC + Mile Morales was.

They just dropped this and moved on.

Uninformed take. Bad DLC and pay-to-play/loot-crating is bad. Offering excellent DLC and additional content is great for gamers.

Loved Spider-Man 1- one of the first games I've finished in years. Haven't played miles morales yet, but now playing 2Holy crap do you slow down and play as Peter a lot. Just finished a thirty minute trip to the fair with Harry and Mary Jane. Pretty lame moments with some awesome action in between so far.

Loved the first Spider-Man game and replayed the boss bases at the highest difficulties plenty of times. For some reason, I have had zero desire to replay Spider-Man 2 as I just didn't find the hive enemies or boss battles worth battling through a 2nd time, and felt the story wasn't as memorable despite all the nice graphics.

Why "uninformed"? The guy just disagrees with you—you don't know what he knows or has experienced, and nothing he said referenced the predatory practices you mentioned.

That said, I'm not sure why I should dislike DLCs, except maybe as a matter of resources—because the effort spent on them could have been spent on their next title, reducing lead times between games, and making the studio more sustainable in the long-term, or something along those lines. Could also be resource-intensive if the DLC is free, but doesn't end up selling more units of the base game—could be risky.

Thing is that's all sort of speculative, and making DLCs (paid and otherwise, but the larger ones tend to be paid) seems like a widespread practice, so if it *were* more sustainable not to, well, not that many large studios have made that choice.

Otherwise, I'm not sure why new innovations are better introduced in a new game, rather than refined and built-upon in an older title, or that new gameplay mechanics are the generally the impetus to create DLC to begin with
