Ingredients show a lot of bad chemicals and preservatives for plain old beans if you ask me. Hard pass!

That's where we buy them and put them in the back of the pantry just in case. You wouldn't normally eat them, but if desperate, it's better than nothing.

That's some 3rd world set of ingredients. Canning preserves foods and there is no need for all of those chemicals.

Made me look:

Ingredients: Prepared Pinto Beans, Water, Salt, Calcium Chloride (Firming Agent), Calcium Disodium EDTA (To Promote Color Retention).

"Calcium chloride in canning acts as a firming agent, making pickles and other pickled vegetables stay crisp and preventing them from getting mushy by strengthening pectin in cell walls. Sold under brand names like Pickle Crisp, it's a safe, easy-to-use alternative to alum, added directly to jars (about ¼ tsp per quart) to maintain texture, unlike salt which is for flavor."

"EDTA is what's known as a 'chelating agent', meaning that it binds with metal ions and prevents them from reacting with other compounds. In food preservation, this prevents reactions from occurring that lead to spoilage, rancidification and color degradation."
