I have seen anywhere from intermediate to 5.0s use it. I mean Ronbus is on par with all the big brands. The $50 or lower paddles you see on amazon are beginner paddles, any of these type of brands are respectable from B&B, Vatic, Ronbus, 808 (Honolulu) have plenty of reviews, no paddle will make you better lol
