I recently bought this at a higher price from Costco but didn't know about the subscription are there any other similar cameras like this with the doorbell without the subscription anyone can suggest?

You can have local storage with sync module and use it without subscription. You may lose on some features

The included Sync Module Core does NOT have local storage. If you have the older Sync Module 2 then it will have a usb slot for local storage to record video clips when motion is detected. Therefore, no subscription is needed if you have the older Sync Module 2 to pair your devices with.

Greedy Amazon/Blink is now selling the camera system with the inferior Sync Module Core with the local storage capability removed to get more people to buy their cloud subscription. I hope their strategy backfires and sales plummet.

Costco one comes with XRsync module which does have a storage of 256GB (need to purchase the card) , so no subscription is required for most of daily activity
