I think I still have one of these in my closet from way back (not the Switch version).
Well you should sell it, because it has some decent value to it!

I guess I didn't realize... But you have to hold this up to your face, with the system being like 5 inches away from your eyes with the weight of the system on your arms for extended periods of time? I don't think I'd be comfortable just holding my hands in that position let alone my Switch... That sounds tiresome

It has a little stand. You're supposed to sit at a table and lean into the goggles while using the Switch as a controller. I would just save my money for some real VR goggles if you're interested in that type of stuff.

You forgot the controller heating up from the 8 AA batteries discharging all at once.

BTW, whoever approved the WaterWorld game for release on the VB needs life in prison. That made ET on the Atari look like a masterpiece in comparison.
Thank you for letting me find out Waterworld VB was a thing. I'm crying/laughing/kinda feel like I'm tripping with eyepatch guy popping up in a playthrough.

To the expansion pack or the basic NSO? That's what I'm asking. I'm a NSO subscriber and am somewhat interested in this. But that's ridiculous if they hide it behind the much more expensive expansion pack. In addition to a hardware purchase. They should put it on regular NSO.

Edit: so apparently you can purchase it as an NSO member but you have to have the expansion pack to play the games. That is just incredibly stupid and greedy of Nintendo. But that tracks for Nintendo these days.

"This product can be purchased by those who have a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. To play games in the Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics, you will need an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The Nintendo Switch Lite is not compatible."
Nintendo is truly the greediest gaming company there is

Funny thing is people give Valve flack for being anti-consumer being they are so pro-consumer, apparently the theory is that their level of pro-consumer strategy is bad for the customer because the Dev's don't like it so it becomes anti-consumer by side effect. In comparison Nintendo comes straight out of the gate (and unapologetically) as anti-consumer AND anti-developer AND anti-competitor and they get praised for it.

Whatever deal they made with the devil appears to be working

I have a COMPLETE USA console with all 14 games, and I've had the displays repaired with the solder repair job, making it even better than new. Other than save states, I don't see the switch edition being better than original hardware.

Sell it while they still go for $400
The collector market for VB is not going to go away because of the release of the games on Switch. Collectors want the real physical stuff, and COMPLETE stuff at that... I've been making bank selling off just the outer cardboard boxes from my old NES/SNES/N64 games, with a few game titles fetching over $200 for just the box, more than triple what I originally paid for the games, and I still kept the games!

Hmm... I paid $29 for my actual Virtual Boy in 1997, so this deal really doesn't seem so slick.

Don't reward Nintendo for this. This accessory almost costs as much as the original console when it came out. Virtual boy only had 22 games, so very steep price to pay. And it requires a membership......Nintendo is getting too greedy.
