Apparently they have a warmer glow than LED lights. I have one and hate it due to bulbs burning out.

Yeah, a warmer glow... especially when they burn your house down.

My FIL was a firefighter, and apparently Christmas tree lights used to be a major cause of fires. Admittedly, the dried out pine needles also contributed, but still...
