I don't use tools on the daily but do fix or put stuff together around the house. Will this be something good to keep around? Or is it too much?

this is mostly vehicle-oriented - you don't want to be fiddling with sockets for around the house.

Looks like a pretty good set to me for $60 (after tax). Ordered one as a Christmas gift for my daughter's boyfriend... good starter set for him and doesn't break the bank.

Not if your fil is anything like me. My wife got me a cheap tool set when we 1st got married 50 years ago. I simply told her to never buy me tools, as I'm the only one who knows what's best "for me."

Noble gesture, but total crap in comparison to the *real* tools I used daily at work. She was a little upset at my dismay but she understood when I related this to me buying her things for the kitchen and such without consulting her.

Edit: totally misunderstood the comment so my reply looks stupid. Where is my brain this morning :-/

He's a 20 year old college kid who doesn't really have any tools of his own. It's a fine first set.
