That does not have the controller app built in, so you need a cloud key to control it. Any thing start with UXG needs a cloud key. UCG has the controller built in

U6 Enterprise (non-wall) is a new addition from the Black Friday sale. The 4x4 antennas on 5G & 6G is unmatched by any of their non-top end WiFi7 equipment. I'd buy this vs any of the WiFi 7 offerings

Absent from the holiday-offer page itself is the Cloud Gateway Max with 512GB SSD for $179 (regularly $279), and cheaper than the No Storage option that's still $199:

Given a 512GB NVME SSD costs ~$80 today, that's only about $100 for the UCG-Max itself.

How's the speed on WiFi with these ? Does this get to gig speed range like 800-900 mbps ? One of my friends got this, not sure which model. Those look clean but speed was hardly 200-300 mbps with their 1gig internet service.
Sitting here on an iphone 15 pro, connected to a U6-LR via UDMSE on 1Gb fiber, I'm pulling 875Mbs.

Are there any issues using the pro 7 outdoor inside the house as an access point? Also can this be run with UDR7?
No it has a setting you can turn on for indoor mode.

Thanks!
QRD on v2 aspect?
Also, are you not concerned with the fan in 7? See tu1820's post below:

Why U7 Pro XG specifically (over U7 Pro)?

Thanks
The XG and XGS have 10Gbe. So you can get faster wifi connection out of them. I get about 3.5Gb with my phone on an XGS. U7 pro max I get about 2Gb. My phone is older so a newer phone might get more. And I have the dream machine pro so I can only get 3.5Gb max.

I'm sticking to my U6 Pro. The U7 Pro has a fan...
The new version of the U7 Pro does not have the fan. You can see it from the picture.

If there is a fan inside, there will be a vent opening right beside the ethernet port. From the online listing now, clearly the vent opening is not there. Thus high likely it is the new version without fan.
Not sure if the link can be viewed. posted a picture here

I am considering buying 3 U7 Wall Pro. Want an AP and 2 child nodes on the mesh. How well/hard is it to setup as a mesh. I want to run 3 VLANs in the house and want to know if I can do that with 3 U7 Wall Pros and non-UBI layer 2 switches. I manage the whole thing with a cloudkey + and a firewalla as the router.

Anyone have thoughts if the older UDM-US is worth replacing with a UDM-Pro, i don't use the any of the WIFI connection on the UDM at this point that's all shifted to APs. Its still working no real complaints just debating if i should grab one on sale or not. Have also been interested in expanding a few G6 Bullet cams out on Protect but think that might be better to go with an NVR. Or is it better to wait it out for next gen at this point?

Processor is older and slow. So is it suited to store data and stream with no transcoding?
It's for storage only. There are no transcoding/services like you find on Synology.

OnePlus 13 which isn't as old as i thought it was. I guess their jump to the new 15 threw me off. My older OnePlus 11 could do around 2Gb max.

Is the price the reason you didn't go with Ubiquity for the Router?
What would you pick from this sale if you were to build up from scratch?

Thank you
I've looked at the Ubiquity routers and dream machines and for the price I didn't feel like it was a good value for me. The hardware offered was a bit underwhelming for the price.
But I can't disagree, for people that are all in with the ubiquity eco system it is very easy to setup and very Apple like environment.
The Mikrotik router setup is not for everyone as you have to literally setup everything from scratch. The bridge, NAT, firewalls,DHCP etc. But it is a very capable machine.
It is a difficult question to answer which pieces to pick up as everyone's network needs are different. Types of clients you need to serve, space size, budget etc.

Great, there goes $422.48!

Now I can sell my UDM-Pro and USW-24-PoE... Maybe I'll even make a little extra $$!
