A) if you want the best print quality, you should always calibrate your filament, regardless of any ready made profiles. Every printer is different even say two P1S'. You can get very good prints with ready made profiles, but you won't be maximizing your filaments potential, regardless of brand.

B) This is not a no name brand at all. It's many people's go to brand for their unique colors. You may not have heard of it because there aren't many deals on it. Their Burnt titanium series may be the nicest filaments I've used and I have over 300 rolls of filament currently.

C) you shouldn't compare pricing of silk and especially the rainbow variants to basic PLA or PETG.

D) your infatuation with plastic spools will make you miss out on a lot of good filament. The highest regarded brands in the industry use cardboard spools. Elegoo is generally my go to because imo it's the best from the affordable brands. If I want to put it in my AMS, I either slap on an adapter or put on an empty Bambu spool (both take less than two minutes. You can Google videos).

If you have coins with aliexpress, going through the coin page will give an additional 17% off. And this coupon works with the matte rainbow color as well.

17% off besides and separate using coins to discount the prices? Or is it up to 17% off if you have enough coins to cover it?

I don't have a ton, need to stop using them for their stupid match game lol, but have never really understood how the coins work as they never seemed to be an option to contribute to the final cart process.

$10/kg for a no name brand isn't slick
they probably don't have oem calibrated filament presets for popular printers like bambu lab
at least sunlu, kingroon and esun have filament presets so you have a higher chance of successful prints and don't waste money and time calibrating yourself.
i got 10 rolls of 1 kg each kingroom for $5.80 each, petg and the spool are plastic, not cardboard like this, which doesn't work in a lot of ams boxes.
huh?!? 🐒

One of my favorite brands for multi-color silk pla. It prints like a charm in my A1 mini, although the exposed segment did get brittle after sitting inside the bowden tube for a month.

17% off the original price before any discounts in my case. Then I got the $7 from the coupon and $2.5 store discount (don't know why). So my net was around 24 bucks after taxes.

For coins, you'll need to initiate the purchase from their coin page. Each item has different percentage that can be contributed using coins. I have seen items during Blackfriday having as much as 40% that could be discounted using your coin balance. But some only have 1 or 2% (for filaments, sunlu and jayo are mostly 1 or 2%; but eryone and elegoo typically have higher percentages).

🤣 Eryone is far from a "no-name" brand. They've been around for a long time. They're a quality filament manufacturer (a step below Polymaker, etc, but in line with eSun or Sunlu). Their Thinker series printers were popular for awhile, as well, but they've focused more on their filament lines as of late.

What is your filament calibration technique? Temperature Tower and retraction test?

It kind of depends on how much I have of a specific filament. I generally buy a nice amount at one time and go through the Orca calibration process. Also depending on the print, I'll just use one of the preset calibrations if I don't have a lot of a specific filament. I didn't say I never use the presets, only that without doing it, you generally won't maximize your filaments potential, and sometimes I'm okay with that.

Also, just to illustrate my calibration post from earlier, I can use the same settings on both my P1S and Centauri Carbon and the prints won't come out the same. Just yesterday I had a reminder of this when printing a PLA-CF lithophane frame which came out amazing on my CC and looked kind of meh on my P1S without calibration for it on the P1S.

Credit cards were being charged cash advanced fees through Aliexpress/Paypal. I have not been successful getting it refunded, but others have. Be careful.
