As much as I love Lego and the looks of these huge sets, I just could never part with $500 for one. The only large set I have is the Mos Eisley Cantina (biggest one). But, I traded 4 sets and $50 for an open one.

The other thing is space. Where do you put all of these? If I had an entire room just for them I guess. Then there's the dust. I'm highly allergic to dust and Lego sets are huge dust magnets. And acrylic cases are crazy expensive.

Lego gives points, a free gift-with-purchase, and you can use discounts from your points on it. $30 isn't compelling.

$30 off is not enough for this set. And it's not really in demand either.

$100 off the daily bugle set, now THAT was a great deal

10-15% cashback + double points (equivalent 10%) + 1-5% credit card. Any discount below 20% off is not really good discount, imo.

Legos will continue to be overpriced as long as people keep paying these crazy prices

These woot deals sell out so fast because these large sets rarely go on sale. Wish they had sales more often.

So then large lego sets aren't for you.

And storage...basic Ikea bookshelves + Ikea doors solves the space and dust problems. One double-wide bookcase holds a ton of medium/large sets. The shelves are almost a foot deep and 3 feet wide. Shelves are adjustable, so height isn't an issue. Those acrylic cases present nice, but they're so much less adaptable than bookshelves.
