Can it stands with the case intact but joycons out? I normally take the joycons out to play with the console stands on the table as display.

i have it and yes, it has tiny latches in the bottom side, the only part that looks worrying is that it probably will tear up the little rubber feet the switch has for tabletop mode

The updated version, which seems to have grips that swing backwards to make it easier to remove the JoyCons, is only $2 more: https://a.co/d/cDDHRQt

It's the same one just more expensive, and different colors.. double listing trap many accessories do on Amazon.

According to one of the reviews, it doesn't actually swing on a hinge (like the promo photo suggests). It's just flexible so you can bend it and take the JoyCon out
