Plan SOC is important in a different way because your max number of lines depends on your plan SOC. Earlier in the thread, devin2k9 has FRLTUL2LP, which is ONE with 3 lines max. Since s/he has 3 lines already, they were never targeted for any free line promotions even though other ONE accounts were.
T-life chat just said I can't have 3 paid lines and 3 free lines (6 total. Is t-mobile getting smart on the ratio or am I not eliglble?
"Any account can only have two free lines when your total lines are six. With five lines, you are already receiving two free lines, so adding just one more line does not make you eligible for another free line. If your account reaches seven lines (with four paid lines), then you can have three free lines. Please let me know if you would like to add two lines to get one line free."

After many many years being a customer of T-mobile, I got a free line. Then after few years, I wanted to move out of T-mobile and
- Attempted to port the numbers.
- The T-mobile held the phone number that I got as free line.
- But claimed that they released the number.
- Even, the Mint mobile, T-mobile's subsidary said the number is not released.
- The number was not showing up in my online account page.
- But, T-mobile kept charging my credit card.
- I disputed the credit card charge, and called the T-mobile, they said you must pay the bill, because the number was not ported.
- When I refused, the T-mobile reported it to my credit history.
After being a loyal customer of T-mobile for 17+ years, as a reward they just damaged my credit history.
