My understanding with dealing with TM promos for so long is, if you really have the segment then you can Add the line yourself, go thru Costco, instore, or any sales channel.
The system will automatically pick it up. That's why the people playing CSR roulette most likely will get burned by somebody lying to force a sale.

So if you are afraid, just Add it yourself and if not really free then ask them to remove it and credit what you paid.
Great advice...I'd add that if you cannot add a free line by yourself, or get a prompt to call in, it may be because you WILL need a plan change to allow another line. That's a warning sign to proceed with caution..like what happened with your co-worker. CSR roulette can get you there too, with some csr's basically lying to get the line add vig, when the account shouldn't or couldn't add the free line.

Nice. Thank you.
I have the Go5G Plus Military plan. I can't seem to find a way to get a free line. Can you please guide me to get a free line? Thank you.

I bit the bullet and went for it through T-Life chat. At least I have everything in writing in the chat and she confirmed everything, that line is in deed free (just had to pay $10 connection fee) for my account and NOTHING ELSE will change (except I have to pay $5ish taxes extra monthly). I asked her like 3 times to confirm and she assured me. She gave me the ID for the chat transcript for my OCD paranoia. I have a spare Samsung S25 that used esim to activate it immediately, took like 5 minutes and it was active. Now just waiting for the promotions in my account to really reflect the free monthly credit and hopefully my next bill is not some weird plan change. So far I still see I'm on the same plan and the new line listed. Hopefully it's all fine; I have gone through hell before so I don't want to go through it again 😬UPDATE : An hour after I added the line, I can now see this in my Promotions section in my account, so that's a relief. Ok hopefully there's no other change. If you have a spare esim (even on an existing phone) add the line via that method and the account should show the update right away. If you order the physical sim card, you may have to wait until you activate it after receiving it in the mail to set the promo live in your account. xxx-xxx-xxxxService Promo with New Line (ID250791)Enrolled
Is your free line including data or just voice?

Simple Choice NA 10GB Family Match Promo. It's targeted. I have the offer popped up in my T-Life app. If you didn't get any text or pop up I wouldn't try because then they'll be messing with your plan to try to get it for you.

I saw the banner in T-life and called the number on it. Rep said I am qualified and charged me $10.
Will see in next billing if it free or not.
Last deal for free line, Rep said I am eligible and in the bill I was charged for full amount. I had to call them and deal with cancel and reimbursements..

Check your Promotions on your account. I activated esim when adding the line so it took effect right away. About an hour later after the activation, the promo ID showed up in my promotions list, along with the one I got several years ago. I'm still nervous with a plan change but I'll find out in 2 weeks

Just chatted with t mobile and they said they are rolling the promo out in batches. If you aren't eligible right now, try again on December 20.

After adding this free line, I would have a total of 9 lines. Since the Autopay discount maxes out at 8 lines ($40), do you know how much will this free line cost per month?
$0 if you have a tax inclusive plan

Looks like free line is for only who got a text message. Not for everyone

FYI, I've never received an email or text message from TMo about free lines, and yet I have 2 paid lines and 7 free lines that I was able to add during previous promos. This one is not on my account. I'm on the old fashioned Magenta plan.

I just called them and they told the free line is only for selected customers who got a text message
