This Cudy AX3000 is a budget WiFi 6 router that stands out for easy setup, OpenWrt support, and solid range in some homes. It has worked well with mesh extenders and can cover brick and basement layouts, while the stock firmware makes WireGuard VPN and VPN exceptions simple to manage. The main limits are the 2.5GbE WAN only, no 2.5GbE LAN or USB 3.0, and reports of a device limit around 32 clients on stock firmware. It looks like a practical low cost pick if you do not need heavy multi gigabit LAN use.

seems best buy is selling a black one:
https://www.bestbuy.com/product/c...arketplace

are they the same except for color?
I checked the specifications on the bestbuy page link in your post. The only difference I see is that black has 3 lan ports and the white has 4 lan ports. In terms of the wifi 6 features, they seem to offer the same.

$39.99 for wifi 6 dual band router is a good price. I paid $30 for a used tp-link router AX55 with the same features on ebay. The tp-link does have a good range. I don't know how that will be with Cudy. But it's notable that it has open wrt. If this deal was there few months ago, I would have bought and tried this.

I received and set it up today. It was easy to configure. I get better range compared to my old ac68u. We have less than 20 devices, no gaming, so I feel this is good enough for us.

Go with Flint 2 MT6000. It's more powerful and will get support long time from OpenWRT community. You can buy from Amazon around $113.
It's not $113 anymore, that was the Black Friday price. Current price is $139.99...

The black one at Best Buy has a slower WAN port & one less LAN port. A 1 Gigabit WAN and three 1 gigabit LAN ports. The white one at Amazon has a 2.5GB WAN port and four 1 gigabit LAN ports.

Otherwise they look the same (CPU, memory). Up to the buyer if the 2.5GB WAN port is worth paying another $7.91, for the router at Amazon.

The Amazon version has a 2.5GB WAN; Best Buy's has a 1GB WAN.

I don't see a $20 difference. Still seeing about $8 difference...

Best Buy: $39.99 - https://www.bestbuy.com/product/c...22Deals%22

Amazon: $59.90; click coupon for $47.92 price.
