Lowe's has this 18" chainsaw kitted with the 5.0 battery on sale again for $249.00. Not sure how many are available nationally, so this might be a YMMV kind of deal.

The 4aH battery is literal trash for the chainsaw and effectively doesnt work. The chainsaw doesnt even run at full power unless you have the 5 ah or better.
Seems like there are some items like this one that still just don't make economical or functional sense to go electric. Am I missing some killer scenario or application where it makes sense?

Current assumption is the upside here for the feelies one gets by being electric("green") or building out your collection of tools that share batteries.

4ah or lower are good for the light weight and things that you may not need the strong power or very long time; like string trimmer. Big machinery like mowers and chainsaws you'll want 5ah and up. I mean if you're cutting a twig which is overkill on a chainsaw, you can go with a weak battery. Lol

But there are quite a few combos that they put the weak batteries, which means you'll spend more to get a better battery.

Maybe a stupid question, but what does a chain saw do if I'm not a contractor and just a regular home owner.
