Costco has 5x 5.9 oz crest Prohealth tubes for 12.99 (0.45 per oz). This is 0.55 per oz. Costco has the better deal

Flip-top caps are actually twist caps too. Don't throw them away and just put them in your next tube of paste.

"Ultra Brite is a budget-friendly toothpaste made by Colgate-Palmolive, known for its whitening focus. It contains fluoride and often includes baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. However, it ranks high in abrasiveness (RDA 133–145), which may risk enamel wear over time, especially with aggressive brushing."

I usually get the Ultrabrite 6oz for $1.12 from Walmart. I read that it does it decent/good enough job. How does this compare to that? Worth switching?

If you have had any dental work (bonding, etc.) it is recommended to stay at/under 70 RDA.

I've only had my root canal done, other than that no other dental done. And I drink a lot of coffee/tea so my teeth is very stained. And I use an electronic toothbrush. Would sticking with Ultrabrite be fine in my case? Thanks.

Did you get a crown or just a root canal? If you have a crown, I would recommend a less abrasive toothpaste. Do you have sensitivity? If so, I would also go less abrasive.
You have to consider that the more abrasive the toothpaste, the higher risk there is of adverse/premature enamel removal, so it may be better to pursue other means of periodic whitening (peroxide gels, strips, etc.) over using a polishing/abrasive-based method.
I would ask your dentist what he/she would recommend for you, I would venture to guess they would also recommend less abrasive toothpaste. HTH

I have a crown as well. And I do get tooth sensitivity, but only from time to time. Most of the time I don't really notice the sensitivity when brushing or eating though. Good info to keep in mind, thanks.

Stannous Fluoride is more expensive and has better outcomes than the other fluoride.

ADA allows for more clinical improvement claims with that ingredient. IIRC it's allowed to say its for tooth sensitivity, cavity fighting, and improves gingivitis.

Sodium Fluoride is primarily focused on the teeth structure itself by neutralizing and protecting enamel from acid, and remineralization. It has minor anti-microbial properties. Stannus fluoride is broader anti-microbial benefits but less focused on the enamel itself. Knowing which to use depends on your individual mouths need.

The fluoride in both has the enamel effects you mention. If you know of any real source saying Sodium Fluoride is better that Stannous F. (not hallucinating AI) cite it.

Here's a link that cites studies showing Stannous Fluoride performed better at remineralization (and of course gum disease)
