That's wild I bought this last time it popped up on here and it's been incredible. Are you by chance using a regular measuring cup instead of the one that comes with it? An American measuring cup isn't the same as the 180ml cup that come with rice makers.

Do those even exist for rice cookers?
Yes, try Instapot. They have inner stainless steel. But be warned it maybe more difficult to clean it though as it gets stuck more often. Just soak it in water for a few hours which would help though.

Thoughts on the neuro fuzzy models vs induction models?
I believe the induction models have a micom/fuzzy logic built-in

In practice the induction model will cook a little bit faster with perhaps a slight improvement in quality/reduction of chance of rice burning and sticking to the bottom of the pan. They also come with a steamer -- several of the non-induction models do not. Likely not worth the price premium for most people.

Yup. Rice doesn't burn in a neurofuzzy Zoji anyway, so not really a benefit of induction. Maybe faster, but you don't buy a Zoji for speed. I have a neurofuzzy and want an induction just for the "upgrade", but can't justify the cost.

I bought this last time it was on sale and it makes great rice -- you need to use their measuring cup or equivalent. Honestly if I was buying again, I might try a $100 Cuckoo or Toshiba, but I've wanted a Zojirushi for a long time and ended up going for it. I'll hopefully use it for a long time. One thing to note though (and they do mention it in the manual, doh) -- make sure you DO NOT use a plastic-bristled scrubbing brush to clean the non-stick pot. I used a bottle brush and it left slightly visible micro-scratches :/ I'm pretty bummed about the scratches, but it still works fine. The inner pot is also specific to this induction model, so you'd need a replacement from Zojuirushi for $65 if it gets too damaged (ouch).
