I had been watching it and it went from $1181 down another $200.
He is an architecture grad student and was struggling this year getting renders finished for parts of his design. His current laptop won't run some of the software he uses like D5 (I think) among others.
He also uses AI to clean up his renders. Soften lighting as well, I think. I am an engineer so all the fancy design stuff he does in addition to the structural engineering leave me with a blank stare sometimes.I get the engineering part, just the design part.
Anyways, the decent screen, compact size and decent battery life is a big improvement over his currently laptop. This way he can work on some of his stuff in class (most of these classes are 5 hours long) while taking notes.
Didn't have a scratch on it. Looked brand new. I got it all setup and it is pretty snappy.
I think this will work out well for his classes and will allow him to do some renders while in class.
We are also building him a new desktop PC this weekend. Thanks to Slick Deals for all the good prices on hardware!
