Edit: They're giving away 17 games this year, through New Year's Day. Here's the schedule (according to GG.deals at least): https://gg.deals/freebie/17-epic-...s-in-2025/
Community Reviews
Hogwarts Legacy is a polished, immersive Harry Potter adventure that works well as a casual PC game, with strong castle atmosphere, smooth performance on modest hardware, and even achievements on Epic. The free Epic claim also includes the base game, and the Dark Arts expansion is discounted to $1.99, with a Fortnite Chocolate Frog Back Bling tied to two hours of play. The main drawbacks are its 90 GB install size and a later-game loop that can feel repetitive or vanilla, with some reports of checkout errors while Epic servers were overloaded. A solid way to grab the game if the claim page cooperates.
Common Questions (5)
Epic's servers can get hammered when a major free title goes live, which can cause checkout errors or the offer to appear unavailable. Waiting a day or two, refreshing, or trying again later can restore normal access.
Sign in to your Epic account, click Get, and complete checkout with a $0 total. The game can be redeemed on the web or in the Epic Games Launcher, and the launcher is only needed later to install and play.
The free Epic version includes achievements. During the free period, playing for 2 hours also unlocks the Harry Potter-themed Chocolate Frog Back Bling in Fortnite.
It can run on Steam Deck and Linux through Proton, including via Heroic Launcher on Steam Deck. ProtonDB is also referenced as a compatibility check for Linux setup.
The game requires about 90 GB of storage. That makes it a fairly large install, so free disk space matters before you redeem and download it.

Search "Hogwarts" - it's like the 4th deal down, with 800+ TU.
That said, SD search is normally pretty bad.
Only way I can find this post is through Google by searching for "Hogwarts Legacy slickdeals"

The app doesn't search in anything except "hot deals", and since this is in "free digital goods" under a totally separate forum, it's excluded from search results. There is, as far as I can tell, no way around that.
Desktop? If you search hogwarts and set it for "title only" (which really should be the default, instead of title + first post), it's the fourth result and impossible to miss.
