I own several high speed Traxxas RCs, I can tell you more metal just makes crashes more catastrophic as the shock is transferred to more and more parts that bend and warp rather than a clean break in 1 spot. As first commentor mentioned though, nothing will be replaceable in this anyways, so it's a moot point.

None of these parts look too different from generic Chinese components readily available on Ali. I'm actually curious how this one compares to the MJX one that community liked a lot and considered a good buy for ~$100. On paper, the specs look very similar and the reviews look positive, too. Any code for their 1:14 cars?

The whole "Chinese parts not available" is not really an issue like it may been in the past. As you stated, Ali and eBay have swappable parts on demand.

lets just take a moment to remember the absolute garbage RC stuff that Walmart would sell about 15 years ago. This is leaps ahead of that, and its somewhat reparable.
