Red Pocket's $30 annual plan stands out for unlimited talk and text with 200MB on the GSMA network, and it can work well as a low data primary line or paired with a separate data plan. The eBay listing offers physical SIM, eSIM, or renewal, with free shipping and fast email delivery of activation codes. The main catch is cost creep, since taxes and fees can push renewals to around $45, and the plan appears to be tied to AT&T compatible phones. Activation is also time sensitive, with a 90 day window and no stacking, so any renewal overrides the current cycle.

Common Questions (5)

  • The checkout price is $30, but taxes and fees can push the effective cost to about $45 on renewal. Buying through eBay can avoid the extra website recovery fee, while auto-renew on the website may add roughly $12 plus taxes.

  • This listing is GSMA, which points to AT&T service and requires an AT&T-compatible phone. The older $30 plan was on T-Mobile, but this one appears to be fixed to AT&T rather than letting you choose another network.

  • It can renew for another year, but it does not stack on top of your current term. Activating a new renewal overrides the existing plan and can forfeit any remaining time or balances, so it is best used when your current cycle is ending.

  • Mid-cycle data top-ups are available at $5 for 1 GB of 5G data or $10 for 5 GB of 5G data. The added credit does not roll over to the next cycle, and Red Pocket says it does not charge pricey overages when you run out.

  • Hotspot use is asked about but not confirmed in the comments. Apple Watch support reportedly requires an extra $5 add-on, bringing the total to about $7.50 per month with this plan.

Can you auto renew every year automatically fromRed Pocket ? Or we have renew from ebay purchase? I want to buy and forget about it
It's cheaper to renew via ebay. Autopay on the web will incur $12 recovery fee ($1/mo) plus misc telecomm taxes. And not all ebay plans are offered on the web for renewal. Just set a calendar reminder 90 days ahead. If you renew and send it to your "beach house" you can also avoid sales tax. Barely even worth it on $30 if you don't bother.

Just renewed my previous version of the $30 plan (t-mobile) in Oct. I hope this AT&T offering is still around next Oct. Recently added a free Helium eSIM for 3GB of data, and I've got all I need.

If just for a second number, why not the Helium free plan? They don't require location tracking now.

They have screwed this product completely. Added a bunch of fees. What used to be $30 a year is now $45 or so with fees.. Buyer beware
Hi there, the plan itself is $30 and does not include taxes or fees, as those are calculated by eBay based on your location. We do, however, show the full amount at checkout so you know what to expect before finalizing your switch.

what are you trying to say here? First you say there are no fees except sales tax through ebay then you go on to say, " We do, however, show the full amount at checkout so you know what to expect before finalizing your switch".. that is beyond confusing the way you worded it, can you clarify ???? Are you trying to say the ebay purchase is basically $30 but if you buy the plan on your website its going to be extra fees at about $45 where the ebay purchase will not have these?? Thanks!

Looks like a good deal. Do you just turn off mobile data? As 200mb doesn't go far at all.
