variable service experiences- sometimes great but others you really have to flag them and ask for the ribeye, filet or the bone beef ribs which my wife likes but I don't care for.
they used to let you use up to two birthday or other emailed promo codes (ie the 15 or 25 off) but have tended to crack down in the last year or so I believe. the gift cards however have always been fine to ~stack and use with/during any promos and should probably process as any typical gift card payment without issue unless they actively change stuff again going forward with any new wording...
I prefer the costco and straight discounts on gift cards over the direct store promo gift cards that that tend to have expirations or more stipulations. (ie in winter- fogo emails/website will have spend x get y promo gift cards that have time use window)

I can not speak for all the restaurant locations, just a few ones I have been to over the last few years. In general and in my opinion, the quality of service has gone down dramatically. The meat quality / taste is not what it used to be. The ambiance is like a diner, a diner that prioritizes the quantity of customers over the quality of service. Most recently, I ate there at the end of November and I will not be going back to Fogo de Chao ever again... It has become a complete waste of money and the food taste is mid at best.

If you like meat, you'd love this restaurant. Their rodízio is all you can eat meat. They bring it around on spits and cut it fresh on your plate.

The Chicago restaurant is one I won't go to again. I've had multiple visits where the restaurant stops serving me. On one of these occasions, my party repeatedly requested a certain cut (ribeye and beef ribs) and they eventually served us but not the medium rare requested. They deliberately did them well done.

I've had better experiences with the suburban Chicago ones but those were events like weddings.

I will go on those kinds of social situations but I will not go to this chain for dinner any longer. The food's good but the service has repeatedly been insulting.

That's shocking. I've literally been to a dozen Fogos more than 50 times in total, and never once was food cold, let alone 'frozen.' Highly suggest you chalk that up to a freak once-in-a-lifetime incident.

Went there today for lunch in Emeryville, CA. Did the $20 "market bar" (salad bar with charcuterie and soups), and added on 8-10oz picanha steak for $17. Service was excellent. The servers kept giving us extra picanha, because they said it was a slow day. It was probably at 50% capacity. I had to skip dinner because I'm so full.

Been there 3 times in the past year. Meat quality isn't high tier, but it's really good for the price. I enjoyed it, and so did my friends.

The only thing about buying gift cards, especially for restaurants, is that there is no guarantee that the company will still be in business by the time you want to use it. I actually am not 100% confident that the fogo de chao near me will still be in business within the next year. I bought a gift card from costco for Pinstripes in april, wanting to go to the Walnut creek location for the breakfast buffet, but they closed down a few months later.

Interesting. I bought this (at $80) the Monday before Thanksgiving and used it for Best of Brazil an hour later. Never looked at the disclaimer, but we had no issues using them.
