Arguably one of the worst endings to a TV series ever. It ended so badly, it took the entire series re-watchability with it. It's not even worth re-watching GoT because it all means nothing. All the plots, all the characters, even the main tagline "Winter is coming"...none of it matters.

This show was all anyone talked about for 3-4 years then bam! That ending erased it from common knowledge. Tragic

I'll never force myself to rewatch this train wreck. I rewatched seasons 1-6 multiple times leading up to season 7 and then rewatched season 7 again in anticipation of season 8. I just want to pretend this series never existed. Such an amazing show ruined by two idiots.

The ending was bad, but not as bad as as that wall episode. It goes from being great to terrible, then OK for a while, then terrible again, the end. Good build ups, bad resolutions, x3.All you really need is the first three seasons, then pretend it was never finished.

I've gotta say that while I binged this whole series right after the last season came out and really, really liked it, watching it again recently... eh, I dunno... Maybe it's just me, but while there are some good bits and some characters I like, I feel like it's just, I dunno, not as great as it's made out to be. I think the hype around the series ending sort of tinted my glasses the first time through. It was a much different experience watching it the second time and thinking logically.
But that's me.

My sister started watching GOT season 6, loved it, mostly amazed at all the CGI dragons and big battles scenes, and said to me she couldn't wait to go back and watch from the beginning. I told her don't bother, the early seasons are all just set up for things that never pay off at all or don't matter at all in the end. That imho is the better way to rewatch this if you feel some need to - forget the ruse this show was a brilliantly written epic with genius foreshadowing and intricately woven plots and just enjoy the eye candy seasons at the end.

i haven't seen this but have heard it's very good except the last season. can someone help me calibrate what shows are superior and by how much? doesn't have to be the same genre.
for instance is breaking bad much better? battlestar galactica far superior? how about the expanse?

Totally worth it. The character development is great and the story. However the ending is one of the worst.

Most probably will not. I think he got the money he wanted by selling the film rights, and now he does not care anymore or has no motivation.

You could just watch it up to s6 and then assume that the red comet hit earth at the end and everyone died. Better ending that way.
