Yea the tax was on the full $1000 price. Trade in was an old phone for $5. So the phone came out to $594.99 plus tax.

Existing line, yes
You need to trade in a phone that has > $5 minimum trade-in value. Go through the motions of adding the phone to cart, and then do the trade-in assessment. If the iPhone 6 is say $5, then your trade-in total will be $205 ($5 for the phone, $200 for the promotional value). But if it doesn't have a value then you will not get the $200.
People are buying the Moto G 2025 from Walmart or wherever for $30 to do the trade-in so consider that instead.
