so if you had a membership, and it's lapsed for like year, thats fine?

Edit: i had a old membership that lapsed in 2023. when I log into it, and click the link in OP, it takes me to me members page with renew buttons. If I click that it's $50.

So no, it doesn't work with over 6 months lapsed accounts. the first reply is false. I guess you would have to make a new account with new email, regardless if your existing account is lapsed over 6 months.

Nope. They offer a senior (50 and older) discount, but have to be non-member for 6 months. Just create new account (can use spouse's email/phone). Then after it's active, you can update email/phone to previous ones. Worked for me last year.

if spending over 2k/yr its worth it to go with plus since you will make the difference back with 2% sams cash. also plus has added perks like early checkout, 50% off tire installation, free delivery over $50, and free selection of generic prescription meds.

Fine print says 6 months. Either call customer service or go to store.

Good question. It says new members (6 months or longer for previous card holders) qualify. But it doesn't mention if you get the discounted rate at renewal.
