If you are into BBQ this is a great idea because you can literally leave the sauce out next to the grill and that lid will protect it from bugs, etc. getting in while also keeping the basting brush clean. In some parts of the country that may be considered extra seasoning though lol.

Yes, that's when I got it — it proved useful with the Thanksgiving turkey.

Baste with butter, cream cheese on cinnamon rolls, butter compote on steak, roasted potatoes…. Love this idea. Only issue is that it's not microwave safe so it will be difficult to keep butter melted unless you use the stovetop.

Cup. It's a cup. The lid happens to have a brush stuck through it.

Fully agree. I also like that it is metal so I can leave it on our near the grill/smoker if I want to warm the contents. I smoked Salmon for Thanksgiving and used this to baste it with maple syrup.
Sure you could use a cup and a brush, but the lid is really handy.

How about cutting a hole on a paper plate to fit the handle through? Plus a cup, you save 10 bucks plus tax and some space in your kitchen.
