Overview
The Spektrum XBC100 Smart Battery Checker is a must have tool for any pilot or drivers pit box. More than a battery checker, it features a built-in cell balancer, integrated servo tester and driver, and Spektrum Smart battery connectivity.
When used with a Spektrum Smart battery, you will be able to see and adjust many of the settings only available with a Spektrum Smart charger. This includes one connection for balance and battery level checking, and providing records like number of cycles, internal battery temperature and exception reports. You can even adjust Smart battery settings right from the XBC100.
The XBC100 also features a Qualcomm 3.0 USB charge port, giving you an easy way to keep your mobile device and Spektrum Smart Transmitters charged when USB power ports are scarce. Better yet, the XBC100 gives you the ability to better setup and test your models with the built in servo tester! Center and test your servo endpoints easily with the integrated PWM output port.
Finally, all of this is displayed on a full color IPS LCD screen that is designed to be easy to read in direct sunlight and is accessed via a user friendly touch interface.

Edit: The spektrum one has the ability to charge your phone via a usb port on the side. A lipo would obviously need to also be plugged into the spektrum unit.

I would not advise anyone to buy it at full price unless you are in the spektrum ecosystem and need it to check your smart batteries. But at this price it is not a horrible purchase, but considering that a sub $5 tester can do what most people would need/want, I am sure some people would still consider this a waste of money...

I recently bought Lipo batteries for my sons Arrma 4x4: https://www.arrma-rc.com/en/produ...2V3T1.h
I didn't think he was responsible enough for lipo and was using nimh batteries until now. I think the Lipo batteries blew the ESC. I guess it couldn't handle Lipo's? Can someone recommend a replacement ESC to buy?
TIA

The big digital display is nice though...

Another option is to try and do a warranty claim. If the car is less than a year old, Arrma/Horizon Hobbies is usually pretty good about replacing items. Just don't tell them you killed it by using a lipo battery.

Thanks. I think I'll hold off if it's going to cost me that much. I think it's almost as much as I paid for the car lol and rather than upgrading, It may make sense just to buy him a new car if just upgrading the ESC won't work. I did just get him an MJX brushless (holiday present).
I'm definitely out of warranty. I think it's close to 3 years old now
