almost all the android smart watches are a failure because of a fatal flaw. their heartrate sensor protrudes from the watch. this creates an imprint on the skin that may or may not be painful to some people. i only found two watches that dont, apple watch and pixel watch but the pixel is an absolute piece of s in hardware design. also samsung watch is way too thick and looks like a kid's toy on your wrist.
Don't wear a watch. Rely on the sun shadows to tell time. Monitor your HR with your finger. Problem solved.

I've had a ChargeHR, Versa Lite and been wearing a Sense for the past 5+ years, 23.75hrs (avg) per day. Only time I had pain was when I was using a manual, 2-prong aerator for my side yard.
Wife and 2 kids also have had various fitbits (Versa Lite, Charge 2, Alta HR) and nobody complained. Try loosening the strap up for regular wear, tighten it a notch when doing exercise.
