The 13.6 inch MacBook Air with M4, 16GB RAM, and 256GB storage stands out as a strong portable Mac option, especially for everyday use and light productivity. The $749 price is often framed as matching Best Buy, with the Amazon credit adding extra value when it appears, and some accounts also unlock cash back or business pricing. The main caveats are the credit can be hard to find, may vary by color or account type, and 256GB fills up quickly. Battery life and the 16GB memory ceiling are the other practical limits, making it a compact but not especially roomy setup.

Common Questions (5)

  • The credit is promotional and may be lost if the order is returned, but it has been reapplied in some cases after contacting Amazon support. The safest approach is to use it on something you do not plan to return.

  • 256GB fills up quickly for many users, especially if you keep lots of apps, files, or media locally. The 16GB RAM configuration is the practical target here, but shoppers who need more headroom are considering 512GB or higher.

    NattefrostmaxbottomtimePurpleWeather125iceage2007

  • The listed price is $749, with a $25 Amazon credit on eligible configurations, so the effective value is $724 after the credit. Business accounts can show $724 directly, while personal accounts typically show $749 plus the credit later.

  • Battery life is usually reported as very strong, with close to 18 hours possible for light browsing and office work. A much shorter 2-4 hour result suggests an abnormal setup or a hardware issue rather than typical performance.

  • No. The credit can disappear depending on color, with Midnight reported as not offering it while Silver and Blue did. The offer also appears to be tied to specific configurations rather than every listing.

I agree with the other commenter. That's not normal, unless you have something really stressing the CPU in that basic browsing. Talk with Apple and have them check it out. My wife's M4 MacBook Air easily lasts close to 18 hours on the battery with basic browsing, Word, Excel, etc. all being used.
I just ended up returning it and getting the M4 Pro with more RAM storage, and the big battery. With RAM going crazy and SSDs I'm sure to follow suit with Samsung and Micron ceasing the SATA SSD production, figured I'd just get it now. This battery is NUCH better.

I did like everything about the M4 Air though.

14" M4 MBP? with 24/512? thats like Triple the co$t? And why not a M5? Battery life is only marginally better. Again, something wasn't right.
