I have two Xbox controllers one got stick drift in 13 months the other one does not have it after 3 years. It's hard to predict. I suspect it has something to do with usage pattern, number of drops and of course quality of the unit. None of the 3 is very predictable.
I like the controller enough to take the risk for $11. I was considering Dualsense but it costs extra $28 and others have reported the same stick drift too. So PS5 controller doesn't seem better and cost way more. Though I'd admit Dualsense is much more advanced.
