Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is getting the most praise for multiplayer, which feels improved and closer to Black Ops 2 and 3, while campaign co op is described as pretty good. The setting refresh also lands for some, and the game can still work well for casual play with friends or family. The biggest knocks are the always online requirement, frequent large updates, heavy storage use, and a campaign that is seen as weak or only okay. Some also feel it is too futuristic or too similar to Black Ops 6, making it a better fit if multiplayer is the main draw.
Players who want a multiplayer-focused shooter, because the campaign is weak but the multiplayer fixes several Black Ops 6 issues.
Campaign co-op pairs who want a different setting, because the co-op campaign is pretty good and the game refreshes the series away from repeated WWII backdrops.
It keeps a similar feel to Black Ops 6, but the multiplayer is described as improved and the campaign is more divisive. Some players stick with BO6 because they dislike the wall-jumping/Omnimovement, while others say BO7 plays more like Black Ops 2 and 3.
Updates can be very large, sometimes larger than a full game download, and the game can take up about a third of a hard drive or more. Leaving the console in rest mode lets updates finish in the background.
Yes. The game has had free multiplayer trial periods, and some buyers are waiting for those before paying full price; others say they would only buy around $20, or $30 if DLC is included.
Yes. The campaign is reported to be always online, with no CPU replacement when playing solo, no mid-chapter checkpoints if the internet drops or the game crashes, and no pause option.
That is not confirmed in the comments. One shopper specifically asks whether this disc is cross-gen or strictly PS5, so it may be worth checking the listing details before buying.
This is what happens -- when you release games like a business commitment instead of creating something . The fact they developed COD 6 and 7 and the same time, and released it back to back tells you everything --- it should have been a game update, or a season update --- not a NEW game.
The campaign of this game sucks. One of the worst campaigns in COD history. The multiplayer is the exact opposite. It fixes a bunch of the issues with Black Ops 6. Sadly due to the campaign and Battlefield having a good release, this game is getting overlooked. And let's be real, if you're buying Call of Duty, it's more than likely for the multiplayer.

Multiplayer is improved. Hope they don't take it as a failure with the game and backtrack on it in future releases
Included in Game Pass Ultimate Day 1 like most AAA things coming in the future.. sorry PS folk. You buy retail or wait for sales now. Such is Life with no IP
I played campaign CO-OP with and it was pretty good. I'm glad they tried something different. We don't need 25 games set in WWII anymore. Refresh was needed.
People pumping BF6 are just riding the streamer YT "toxic" culture they watch. They would respond with a "bro".. or "bruuuuh".

Used to be on GamePass Core now essential. Service not worth it in my opinion as there's no consistent AAA games from Xbox Studios and due to price increase. If they had one NEW AAA game every other month it may be worth it
Campaign was okay at best. Not as bad as people put it out to be. It's not the setting, it's the always online requirement, no CPU replacement when you play solo (can't rely on revival stim all the time especially on harder difficulty, most objectives/switchs are opposite end of the map), no mid chapter checkpoints if Internet/game crash or need to stop playing, at least 2 maps are recycled from past campaign but different story scenarios.

Should be a free to play game like Fortnite. Im not fan of Fortnite but it free online play and all you pay for is season pass just like COD if you want the DLC. COD charge for everything.
