Proprietary motherboard and psu, so it's a one-and-done PC with little upgradability.

Not sure it's such an "amazing" deal, frankly.

Mobile CPU
Slower RAM
Less storage
Limited upgrades
It's only attractive if:

You want RTX 5060 Ti
You don't care about upgrades
You accept laptop-class internals in a desktop shell

It is a Zen4 chip, Ryzen 7 8 core 16 thread with 32MB L3 cache. If you can find any similar chip with $200 or less let me know I will let you earn the price difference. Plus, if you want to DIY a PC now, you can't use laptop ram 99% of the time, so you have to spend $300 to get 32GB DDR5 ram kit. Your comment actually highlight another advantage of this build: people can upgrade with less expensive laptop ram....Finally, although it is 8GB version, 5060 Ti typically cost $350-$400, so with your "deep dive" comment, this deal becomes more amazing...

Ryzen 8745HX is a desktop 7700X on a mobile/BGA package. Normal mobile Ryzen chips have 16MB L3 Cache, desktop (and this) have 32MB. Significant IPC improvement. TDP is configurable up to 75w, although I don't know what Lenovo sets it at. On the normal 7700X, reducing the TDP from 105w to 65w is a negligible (~5%) performance hit.

Check how many people gave you down vote, you angry fool lol. Your comment just reflect you understand nothing in DIY PC domain and are clueless about the current market condition. Those naive comments sounds like some old people just learned how to use computer and surf the internet. This is a Zen 4 chip with 32MB L3 cache, and the OEM price of laptop CPU is usually more expensive than the equivalent desktop CPU because laptop chips are made from more power efficient silicon batch. If you ever watched one(just one) single tech video on YouTube, you will know Zen4 chips are not power hungry at all and the performance difference between 65W and 105W TDP setting is almost negligible.

I will put this statement on the table: find any equivalent build with brand new components that can perform even close to this, I will let you earn the price difference + extra tip. If you can find 100 stocks, I can initiate a PayPal business bill and pay to you, no hesitation.
