You should play Fallen Order before this as this is a sequel. Fun game, but can be beaten in 20 hours and not a ton of replay value so may be worth a monthly sub to EA Play instead

For physical collectors out there, this doesn't seem to include the complete game file. I purchased the predecessor, but I passed on purchasing this physically.

Good deal for a great semi-open world game that rewards exploration. The plot in the first game was better but this offers more quality of life improvements. You should play the first one to appreciate the second.
However, as someone else noted it's cheaper on digital.

Honestly the first game has been so cheap I think it would be better to buy it, but it depends how much time you have to play. If you have the month of you could probably beat both games in a month.
I would say that while you could beat the first in 20 hours you would be trucking through at a fair pace and you would end up like me where you would get to the final boss and keep dying at her for like 4 hours because you can't go back as you overwrite your old save until you finally break down and reduce difficulty just so you could get to that awesome scene we all know and love. I would have been much better to go back and get the side content after I have everything unlocked. That's what I did with the second as I wasn't in such a rush and it was a very rewarding experience.

Yup, might as well get the game on digital at nearly half the price. Although even if the disk did have the version of the game at launch it was a pretty rough mess back then... not sure that would do you much good if you couldn't get the updates.
