a bit too dry for 2.0, so yes, only 2.1 is available

Decisions...Decisions. replace my Yamaha 2085 with this for the 2.1 "humidity" and extra channels. I'm running a 7.2 but I have some Atmos speakers lying around somewhere.

i have an RZ50 and definitely impressed with the power and dirac.

Not a bad deal if you don't need to go all the way to Dirac ART!

That's fine. However, an all time low is still an all time low, yeah? Has it ever gone below $1700?

As someone who had an Onkyo that died prematurely as a result of known quality issues, I just cant recommend them. (And that seems to be all that is on here lately). That experience just soured my opinion of them and I have and will continue to pay up for other brands.

I only stated a simple fact about present pricing and this deal. Not sure why you felt the need to go off on some pointless rant about all time lows.

TX-NR series? I've only owned one NR series and it didn't die on us. Went on to get a RZ one and it's quite amazing. We have waited for it to die and it refuses to after 10 years so we upgraded to a Denon 5800 anyways and boxed the RZ900

Yeah, but we're on "SlickDeals", not "SlickComments". Price is still king in this community!

Waiting on an AVR with 4 discreet/independent sub outs. Best bet is probably the Denon X3800H, huh?

Onkyo really screwed up with their HDMI board failures years ago. I had three in my house, and all three failed within months of each other. Onkyo only fixed one. For years after, they were dirt cheap and peddled as junk. Prior to this, they were literally THE receiver to get. If they had just fixed them all regardless of warranty (or at least extended the warranty), they wouldn't have lost customer confidence the way they did. I personally will never buy another Onkyo again. I bought Denon and haven't had an issue yet.
