These things are always dirt cheap but they are so slow. At least they always used to be.

Our regular HD 10, purchased last year from QVC for $55, is great for streaming. We added a robust case and screen protector for my then 5 yo and she loves it. We setup a kids profile and it works well.On top of that I was able to easily add the Google Play Store for additional apps, though we really haven't downloaded much more than the streaming apps and some simple games.

Much prefer to get the 64 GB versions - especially if your kids do Minecraft or Roblox. Not much room for anything else at 32 GB after the OS and adding Google Play and those.

IDK about your luck with them but I never seem to get them to work well "as internal" storage. YMMV I guess

Have owned several Fire tablets over the years and although clunky and require "hacking" to add Google Play/App Store, they are a great price point.

The newer versions are typically better speed wise. Worth it at this price.
