From time to time, Humble supports charities I don't agree with. You can always adjust your payment so a listed charity does not get anything from your purchase.
Well, I asked Chad & got some good recommendations:
To refresh Books 1–12 at a high level:
1. Start with "As The Wheel Turns" — for short, book-level recaps.
2. Supplement with fan podcasts like The Wheel Reads and Cool Story for more detail as needed.
3. Use YouTube summaries (e.g., Daniel Greene) at increased playback speed for deeper plot continuity.
4. Optional: Refer to chapter summary text sites if you just want a written refresher you can skim/convert to audio.
This Wheel of Time ebook bundle is a strong value for a huge fantasy series, especially for readers who want the later books and the Brandon Sanderson finish. The books are praised as amazing, with a satisfying conclusion and a long, gradual build that pays off. The bundle also includes ePub files that work across many devices, and the payment can be adjusted so less goes to a charity you do not want to support. The main drawback is the middle stretch, which slows down around books 7 to 8 and can feel like a slog. The bundle link also appeared unavailable for some, so access may need checking.
Commuters or multitaskers who want a recap-friendly series, because chapter summaries and short refreshers can help catch up without rereading.
The series is described as slowing around book 7 or 8, with books 7 through 11 or 12 feeling like a slog for some readers. It then picks up again with the Brandon Sanderson books and ends strongly.
The bundle link was reported as unavailable at one point, but a corrected Humble Bundle URL was shared with 2 days left. If the main page says it is gone, the updated link may still work.
The bundle is listed as ePub format and should work on computers, e-readers, iPads, phones, and other mobile devices. The listing does not explicitly say DRM-free, so Kindle use may depend on whether you can import the files after purchase.
New Spring is a prequel, but it is often better after book 5, Fires of Heaven, because the story impact is stronger. Many readers still save it for the end, so either placement is common.
The $18 price is considered worth it for the last three books alone. That makes the bundle especially attractive if you mainly want the ending volumes rather than the full 16-book set.

This site provides a great chapter-by-chapter synopsis of the books that might decrease the need to re-read the early books. https://wot.fandom.com/wiki/A_beginning
Quick question about the files. Are these Epubs DRM free or are they locked to a certain platform like Kobo? If they're DRM free I'll gladly pick up this deal and add the books to my Kindle library.
Great series. It does slow down around book 8. Some people say book 7. It picks up at the Brandon Sanderson books.
For whatever reason the plot is fairly fast paced (for such big books), but then basically grinds to a halt for a few books. Very good stuff, but you have to be paying attention and realize that the narrator (main POV characters) don't always know what is going on. They lead you down many false paths because they don't understand what they are seeing.
A very easy way to get into the series is to find the Graphic Novel for Eye of the world. The fist book is good, but intentionally confusing. The comic helps it to be less confusing. At least a bit. It made understanding the prologue a lot easier. One of the most interesting setups of a fantasy book of its time even if it looks like a ripoff of The Fellowship of the Ring for the first few chapters.

Just got back into reading and while I think I'm probably months, if not years away from diving into something this heavy/long, I thought id cave for the price and start working myself up towards it.

From their website, "The ebooks in this bundle are available in ePub format, so they work on your computer, e-readers, iPads, cell phones, and a wide array of mobile devices!".
It doesn't mention DRM free but it seems to work with a wide variety of devices.
Any recommendation on the reading sequence?
When to read "New Spring" in the sequence?
What about "The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time" and "The Wheel of Time Companion"?

"New Spring" should definitely be read after book 5, "Fires of Heaven", since the impact of the story will be much stronger despite being a prequel. However, most people recommend reading it at the end; I'm on book 7, "A Crown of Swords", and I haven't read it yet. As for the other two, I haven't read them so I'm not sure how they fit in, I imagine they're more like encyclopedias. The physical copies of the books each have an index in case you forget the name of a person or place, the ebooks are probably the same.

In case anyone isn't a big fan of the new Amazon ebook covers, I found a website that has all of the old US ebook covers that look much better: https://dragonmount.com/gallery/c...-original/
You can edit the covers using software like Calibre.

The bundle can be worth it because the last three books alone justify the $18 price.
The series can feel rewarding with gradual development and a satisfying conclusion for book readers.
The ePub files may work across many devices even though DRM-free is not explicitly stated.
A chapter-by-chapter synopsis resource can reduce the need to re-read early books.
The reading pace can slow down around books 7 to 8, making those volumes feel like a slog.
The ePub DRM situation can be unclear, since the listing does not mention DRM-free and platform locking is a concern.
The bundle link can show the offer as unavailable and may have been unavailable since May.
Gift recipients can face an unlocking issue that blocks access until at least $18 is spent.
