What's the issue? Looking for gaming rig for my kid. Debating on building but prices are all over the place thinking it may be better to just buy prebuilt.

For gaming, at this price point, CPU is overkill and GPU not ideal. I think there were a couple deals with the same GPU at around $900 price point.

OK so I'm looking at Ms flight simulator, fusion and other cad. Is this the wrong direction to be going?

This card will hit its head on 1440p Ultra for demanding titles, if you're aiming for 60fps or above. 1080p ultra would be 'fine' for >60fps with some decent latitude. Tom's GPU charts are still a good reference point to start with: https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...,4388.html
The comment about imbalance is mainly that, with a 5060Ti, you could drop the CPU tier down a notch or two and not lose much/anything on titles that aren't highly CPU demanding (i.e. vast majority of games, including AAA titles). It's not a 'bad thing', per se, just that someone building a system could spec the CPU down a bit and use that money to the try to level-up the GPU, yielding a better performing computer (for gaming) at the same/very similar price point.

at what resolution and quality settings, for MSFS? Those details matter, if looking for advice.

I see. He's mostly doing modded Minecraft, Kerbel, and Meta VR casted games while making YouTube videos. Trying to find a balance of around 1500 that'll future proof him a bit without going crazy on spiking memory prices.
