Costco is, in fact, top tier. They turn their fuel over so fast, it is the freshest you will find. Add this stuff and you are good.

Alternate (perhaps controversial) slickdeal - consider using gasoline that is Top Tier certified instead of spending on a separate additive.

interesting thing. I was at dealership last week and complained about my old car's bad mileage. The service advisor asked where I go for fuel. When I told him Costco, he showed me a dirty valve and claimed it is from a car use Costco gas a lot. He said Top Tier is a standard created decades ago and not good enough for cars nowadays. He suggest only to use Shell, Mobile, Chevron...
That guy must be getting a kickback from Shell, Mobile, and Chevron...

Yeah. I know Costco is top tier. but his point is top tier is meaningless nowadays. I did some research last week. it seems top tier is mainly about how much detergent added to the gas. detergent is added to remove impurity in gas. But EPA requirement of detergent is very low. Costco add 5x detergent and Shell added 6x

Maybe., But Costco gas is at least 50 cents cheaper than most other branded gas station near me. so I will have to stick to Costco anyway.

$0.50 cheaper and Top Tier. Win-win.

My engine is a turbo GDI, so I run top tier Chevron gas which has Techron in it, which is great for downstream of the valves and helps prevent injector coking. I have an induction service every 5 oil changes (about 18 months for my limited driving), since direct injection prevents any fuel detergent from cleaning upstream of the cylinder and carbon on the backs of the intake valves that fuel detergents or additives never reach. If I wasn't running the gas I do, Techron would be a good additive to buy, because it has PEA and PBA in the formula which are proven as the best option. Never had any fuel related problems in 10.5 years on this vehicle, and the responsiveness and power are still excellent.

Was $5 at Napa last week
NAPA still has this on "Monthly Special" for $5.49 each for 12 oz. (regularly $10.99) = same as Amazon deal.
https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/CHV67740
This works out to approximately $0.50 per ounce.

NAPA also has the 32 oz. on "Monthly Special" for $12.99 (regularly $19.99).
https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/CHV37802
This is a better deal at $0.41 per ounce.

totally agree... i work with a TOP TIER 1 company and the stuff they put in the gas already is literally the same - if not better - than having to purchase additives...
Yeah, but you're paying more overtime than just adding a bottle every once in a while

Alot of people are clueless and just spitting stuff out of their mouth.

This fuel cleaner is a more of a concentrated (stronger) solution that you would get from a single fill-up of Chevron.

Each company gives different ratio. Been so long, but I remember reading something that Shell / Chevron has the highest additives package for cleaning. But you need to also pay for highest grade of gas.

Costco is very anal on the quality of fuel. They don't even trust their delivery company. From the one station I go and talk to. The manager told me they have the additives on site. They mix into the fuel, to make their own Top Teir.

The guy was blowing smoke and probably that's what made the valve dirty.
