I have a G29, if you're patient enough you can usually score one for under $200 when they occasionally go on sale.

I think the Thrustmaster T300RS is a decent compromise between price and quality, and pops up here semi-regularly.

If you want something fancier than that, you want to go with a direct drive wheel like Fanatec.

logitech is selling refurb'd G923s for $176 on ebay. That's where i got mine in April. For the most part it's been fine. Do have an issue during long gameplay sessions the force feedback will quit working. Annoying but not worth the hassle of sending it back to logitech.
