No idea how this compares to Dyson (try Google or YouTube if you're interested) but my wife has one of these and loves it. It's quieter than the old $30 dryers and it dries a lot faster. I can't imagine the Dyson works a lot better but maybe it does. It's a lot more expensive so it would either have to last a lot longer or work a lot better to justify that premium.

I watched a lot of reviews and the overall consensus was the Dyson was overall better, but it was super close, and good luck getting the Dyson at even 2x this price.

My wife is very happy with this one for Xmas last year.

It is smaller than most other hair dryers, and it does extra duty with a couple attachments if needed so isn't the worse choice.
