Why is this cheaper than the MSI raider(posted on SD as well) with similar specs, which also happens to be smaller as well?

MSI laptops don't have advanced optimus or gsync. You can get a 5080 Legion 7i Pro with OLED 240hz screen with a 5080 in it right now for 2300 @ microcenter.

The best laptop gaming for me personally is an 18 inch mini-led like Rog strix scar or similar. 18 inch laptops don't have OLED (yet) but they are phenomenal in every other way.

This MSI is older tech, most high end 18 inch laptops now have 240hz minimum.

I went from a ROG strix 18 to the 16 Lenovo, and I prefer the ease of use of moving it around and being able to prop it up in weird places (I use mine for other things besides gaming) and that was much harder with an 18. I loved the screen size of the 18, just not the footprint.

No current gaming laptop has OLED @ 18 inch. The best ones at 18 inch right now are ones that have micro led, 1200 nits peak brightness, and 240hz. Contrast that also compares well with OLED.

According to TechPowerUp GPU rankings, the 4090 Mobile chip has comparable performance to a 4070 you'd put in a desktop. Does this diminish the deal given all the other craziness with RAM and the like?

Thanks OP. I've been wanting the 5090 version but for half the price I couldn't say no. Amazon Visa and other cb pushed me over the top.

Isn't a 4090 mobile similar or equal to a $1250 5070ti mobile in performance? The acer OLED Helios that was on here a couple of weeks ago seems like a much better deal. Also, much better power consumption on the 50 series which really matters with laptops

I have this laptop. It's the A14VIG model. I've had it for well over a year. I use it to drive two external 32" gaming monitors. I've been very satisfied with it. I have it sitting on a Targus cooling pad. I've played all kinds of games from my Steam library using it. From Civilization VII to Clair Obscur Expedition 33. If you are looking for a great powerful laptop at a reasonable price, I recommend it. I have not encountered any issues with it, thankfully. I am not affiliated with either the manufacturer or Woot. If this one doesn't meet your needs, I hope you find one that does. I'll probably be upgrading in another six months or so to complete a two year duty cycle.

It's a 4K 18" 120 Hz monitor. That's really quite exceptional.

I have the Titan GT77 with 4080(the previous version) and love the computer except that it's too heavy. This one is 18 inch screen with mechanical keyboard, 64gb memory, 4tb ssd, also build quality is also excellent, lots of ram, ssd slots. Not sure the acer OLED excel in which aspect. Also this one has 4090, not 4080.
